About the course

As an employer, you must protect your employees from the health risks of working with display screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

This training course covers various important topics regarding display screen equipment (DSE) and how to adjust workstations to suit the individual. It’s for people who work with display screen equipment such as a computer or visual display unit for one hour or more in their working day. The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations don't apply to workers who use DSE infrequently or only use it for a short time, however they may still benefit from the knowledge within.

Health problems related to use of DSE include upper limb disorders and repetitive strain injuries. These problems can involve the neck, shoulders, arms and back. Tiredness and eye strain may also be experienced. Injuries caused by, or exacerbated by, DSE use can be serious enough to warrant surgery, and, in some cases, can lead to permanent disability.

This course will help minimise the risk to the health & safety of your people by giving them the knowledge of how to work with display screen equipment to ensure comfort, safety and wellness.

• Lesson 3 begins with looking at problems you may come across
• And moves on to best practice for DSE and how to adjust to your environment

Lesson 04 - Being on the move

• Lesson 4 is all about you again, keeping on the move
• And promoting your general level of comfort with the use of different aids
